This is a poster for a dance
you are invited too
Do not think that notices are
always for someone else
this one’s for you

Of course, you could stay at home,
cook supper as usual,
watch a little telly or read the paper,
curl up with a book
and unwind in the bath

Or

by 11pm you could be
a prisoner of rythmic joy
and swirling fires,
conquests, glories, triumphs, coy spoils,
dresses, colours, thirsty desire,
soirée and cabaret in endless sway,
and the music of the gods,
who have been given the evening off
and let out to play.
